We hope you read and enjoy her poem!
Of
nature’s people
People
do escape into the woods.
They
hide in the trees, they shoot
into
a cold bared wind,
at
animals at all levels
including
themselves.
In
the future we will turn to wilderness,
not
having been there in the first place
or
else returning, redacted
by
the internecine or
loosened
by the hurricane.
I
know some of nature’s people.
If
you were to come with me
into
the field, a yellow field
lined
with woods without hesitation
our
several natures might meet
in
the yellowing.
